Landing page, Twitter, Stumbleupon, and an Update

The main reason for this post is because I created a landing page that organizes all the articles I have written for the “Creating a Blog Design from Scratch” Series outside of the blog’s software. I choose to do this, because I don’t believe a page or post listing all the articles would be as effective as creating a custom page. I think it came out really nice and makes it easy to access all the articles for the series on one page to refer to.

Other than that, I have made changes to the sidebar for the seventh time. The previous one was clean, but slightly lackluster. I pretty much just added some color and made a new RSS button. I also added my twitter and stumbleupon profiles to the sidebar for easier access. People were finding my profile by searching for it so this will make it easier. Go ahead and add me.

Note: I put follow on in the comments because I like to be nice, but please do not abuse it and try to use keywords as your name. If you do not have a name, I will give you one.

If you like this article, give some love back.

I love the landing page, just stumbled upon it a moment ago. Very good idea, and makes reading the info very easy. Good job

This is very good idea. The landing page is well organized and easy to follow.

p.s. Subtitle is somehow misplaced in IE 7. It looks fine i FF.

I’ve always used normal blog posts, or pages, to create landing and sneeze pages in the past. But you’ve done such a good just, it’s inspired me to be a bit more creative. What I particularly like is how you’ve carried through the general look and feel of the blog, so it doesn’t feel disjointed or tacked on the end. Nice work.

The landing page looks really good. More people with the series type posts should incorporate something like this.

I think you have a small issue in the header.
I wanted to go to the home page and hovered the logo but it wasn’t clickable. At least not its lower part. The #lp_info div is on top of the logo div. Try a z-index or a smaller fixed width for the lp_info.
    Cheers!

Looks like the images are inheriting some height property in Safari, so they look stretched. Otherwise it looks awesome.

Awesome landing page, Vinn. I’ll be pointing folks there for sure.

It’s got me thinking, too, about a couple of the series I’ve wrapped up on my blog. I do believe I’ll try something similar.

    Good form!
