Blog design + Psychology = Food for thought

If I can only use one word to describe my bookshelf, I would have to say “a total mess.” Over the years I have collected a wide variety of different books based on my interests and they fall into a wide assortment of categories from business to improving my social skills. My biggest passions are blog design and psychology so I have been thinking about how they relate to each other.

In psychology, one of the most important concept is the paradigm. The paradigm is how a person views the world they live in. Everyone has a different one based on their experiences and personal beliefs. So I have been thinking what is the paradigm of a person who visits a blog? Is a blog just a means to an ends? Or is a blog a tool to find other people who share the same passions? Or is a blog a way to make even more money?

Jakob Nielsen did a study in his book “Prioritizing Web Usability,” that showed more experienced web users tend to spend less time on a page before deciding whether it is worth their time or not. I found that interesting and I think more studies should be conducted on people’s perceptions of websites and blogs in general. What do you guys think would make a great research study topic?
